The Grid is a community of Before & After subscribers who love graphic design and are here to connect, share, collaborate, learn, and teach in an open, safe environment. Membership is free for Before & After subscribers.

General forum etiquette:
  • Love is good.
  • Keep in mind that we are all on the same side. Tread lightly. Respect differences.
  • Polite goes a long way.
  • Clean speech and images, please.
When posting:
  • The best posts start a conversation or continue one.
  • Good grammar and spelling make a point easier to understand.
  • Descriptive language is better than vague. For example, “Which of these colors makes this cover look more feminine?” is better than, “Does anyone have ideas for a web site?”
When replying, please try to:
  • 1) encourage or suggest alternatives
  • 2) recommend resource(s)
  • 3) cite example(s)
  • 4) identify theory

1) You must have an active subscription to Before & After.

2) Your user name will be your first and last name separated by a space.

3) Your contact address will be the same as your Before & After subscription email.

4) We encourage you to use an avatar. It must be a photo or a good likeness of you. Non-animated. 80 x 80 pixels. Maximum file size: 97 KB.

5) You may not post a message that is obscene, vulgar, hateful, threatening, sexually oriented, infringes upon the copyright of another, or otherwise violates any laws. (Copyright infringement as defined by the U.S. Copyright Office: "As a general matter, copyright infringement occurs when a copyrighted work is reproduced, distributed, performed, publicly displayed, or made into a derivative work without the permission of the copyright owner." http://www.copyright.gov/help/faq/faq-definitions.html#infringement)

7) Before & After reserves the right to remove, edit, move, or close any thread for any reason. Although we will attempt to keep all objectionable material off of The Grid, it is possible you may see a message before we do, and you may report messages that violate the rules or contain objectionable language or images. All posts express the views of their authors, and neither the owners of Before & After nor the phpBB developers will be held responsible for the content of any message.
